What A Wonderful World

What A Wonderful World

Happy Mother's Day!

I'm a mother of two women who are in their 20s—I feel so blessed to have these ladies in my life. When I was their age, my mom was my biggest cheerleader. She only wanted the best for me and made me believe that I could do anything I put my mind to.

When I eventually started my jewelry business, it was my Mom who encouraged me to keep going. As the years went on, she worked events with me and could always be counted on to wear one of my designs. When I gave her a bracelet that had all of her children's and grandchildren's birthstones on it, she cried. I tear up just thinking about it.

One moment with my mom keeps coming to mind this Spring. Just before she passed away, we sat in her kitchen and discussed how she wanted the song "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong played at her funeral. When I asked her what her reasoning was, her answer was simple. She said, "Because that's how I feel." That truly was her outlook on life: even though she knew she was dying, and there had been troubling moments in her life, she still felt so blessed to be in this world.

I hope I encourage my girls, returning the favor my mom provided for me. They need it now more than ever with the pandemic going on. During this time, I've been thinking of this song a lot. When it pops into my head, I try to think as my mom did. I see my blessings—being able to communicate with family and friends, the sound of the birds chirping in the morning, seeing the trees and flowers start to bloom, and pictures of newborn babies on Facebook. Even with everything going on, I can still think to myself, it's a wonderful world.

Happy Mother's Day & XO,

Margie

Thank you Margie. I loved your Mother very much. We were a team working on the flowers that were planned in front of the shop. And she was always supportive of what ever I wove. And she is in my thoughts a lot of times. I do miss her.
And the necklaces I game to my daughter in law, Aundrea and my daughter Susan for Christmas was loved by them.

    Take care! Love Catherine

I’m really crying now. Those are hard conversations I remeber having them with my Mom too. But so important for life’s circle of love. I know you are missing your Mom as I am mine. We were fortunate to have loving, nurturing women we called Mom. P.S. What a Wonderful World is one of my favs. Dillon and I chose that for the Groom/Mom dance at his wedding. I remember my Dad loving that song💕
