Pearls - Grandma Nelson

A few years ago my cousin sent me this beautiful picture of my Grandma, and it reminded me of what a wonderful lady she was. Looking at it closely, I noticed she is wearing pearls. Now, every time I look at this picture I smile because I not only love pearls but also love creating jewelry pieces with them. Often when I make a piece of jewelry that has no pearls, I will dangle a pearl off the closure. Pearls are a symbol of peace - with everyone's hectic schedules, who couldn't use more of it in their lives? This last weekend in the USA Today section of the paper fashion consultant Tim Gunn wrote how a strand of pearls are a "must have" for spring. You can find the article here:
